I have been on yet another Jazzy binge and well…. Jazz strikes me as an almost perfect music… Always the right words, since you get to fill them in yourself…. Never the lazy man\’s music… To enjoy it you need to pay attention, and to dance to it, well, lets just say you need more than that…. Like the perfect woman, Jazz cannot be enjoyed by many and it is the quiet moments that you spend appreciating her that make the most memorable moments… Enough said… Now, the literature…
A MOMENT IN HEAVEN
As I hold her close to me,
And the smooth jazz fades into the distance,
The silence grows and we are alone,
The pebbles grinding under our feet,
As we stroll leisurely under the star-spangled sky,
Not saying much, the silence holding our tongues,
Embracing the beauty, simplicity, serenity,
That the cool evening keeps so well hidden from most,
Still we say nothing, the silence saying it all,
The sound of the river carrying through the night,
Our hearts floating on the clouds above us,
I turn to her, never tiring of her beauty,
and we are lost in each others\’ eyes,
Her hand grazes my cheek,
Shivers run down my spine,
Words fail me yet again,
We walk on, dream on,
On this journey, we are together,
The sounds of the band become more clear,
The voices become more audible,
We enter the bistro in silence,
Yet our hearts sing the loudest,
Just a stroll in the park,
Just, a moment in heaven
